Our story can be traced back to sophomore year at SMU. We were initially introduced to one another by an accounting professor during a test review session. The initial spark that ignited our journey was discovering our mutual love of hockey. After a circuitous start, we began dating late that fall.
We quickly became an inseparable, perfect team, and pushed each other throughout undergraduate and graduate studies and eventually through the CPA certification process. With each of us challenging the other to do their best, we both successfully completed our CPA certifications and began our careers at EY. At this time, Christian figured life was getting a little too routine, so he decided to change it up!
On the evening of May 17, 2019, Christian orchestrated a wonderful and memorable evening. After having a few early hiccups (the original restaurant we went to inexplicably lost power, requiring a last minute change of plans) we ended up taking a walk on SMU’s campus. Once we arrived in the middle of campus, Christian got down on one knee and asked the question that would forever change our lives. I was completely surprised by the proposal, and it really hit her when a special photographer capturing the moment made her realize the enormity of the situation. Christian had arranged for parents and grandmothers to be hiding nearby, and they were able to be the first to offer congratulations and celebrate with us!
On June 20, 2020 we tied the knot in a 100 year old church surrounded by parents and grandmothers. The happy couple is eager to celebrate their nuptials with family and friends!
